I’m surprised that so many people don’t collect rainwater – very few do. Even if you don’t live off the grid, why not put some barrels around your eves and catch some extra water for watering plants, washing dirty tools, etc…
I think it might just be that lots of people are simply cheap and lazy when it comes to this. They don’t want to spend money on expensive water tanks, nor do they want to fuss around with installing gutters, downspouts, and pipes.
In the video below, I show you my super cheap and easy method for collecting rainwater in barrels. This whole setup only cost me about $150, and took about 15 minutes to put together.
